Bring your own Kubernetes (BYOK) deployments

Bring your own Kubernetes (BYOK) installation allows you to deploy Chef 360 Platform Server on your existing Kubernetes cluster instead of using Chef 360 Platform’s embedded Kubernetes cluster. This deployment option provides greater flexibility and control over your Kubernetes environment while leveraging your existing infrastructure investments.

BYOK supports both online and air-gapped installations, enabling deployment in secure, isolated environments where internet connectivity is restricted or not available.

Installation options

Choose the installation method that best fits your environment:

  • Standard installation: Deploy Chef 360 Platform Server on your existing Kubernetes cluster with internet connectivity.
  • Air-gapped installation: Deploy Chef 360 Platform Server in environments without direct internet access.
