Mailpit

Mailpit is an open-source email-testing tool designed for app developers to test an application’s email functionality more efficiently. Mailpit runs a minimal SMTP server that captures outgoing emails. You can view the captured emails using the Mailpit web UI or retrieve them using an API for automated testing.

Mailpit was added during alpha and beta testing because customers found connecting to corporate email systems could be burdensome for a simple proof of concept. Mailpit reduces this burden for anyone evaluating or extending Chef 360 Platform.

Mailpit isn’t intended for production workloads.
